Latex & Rubber Care

Latex is a delicate material that benefits from mindful care to preserve it's glossy finish and overall lifespan. Follow the care tips below to ensure your latex garments stay in pristine condition wear after wear.

LATEX
Pre-Wear
  • All new latex garments will arrive lightly dusted with talcum powder to protect the material during transit. This powder will easily rinse off with water.

  • When dressing in latex, we recommend using a silicone-based dressing aid or talcum/baby powder to help the garment glide on smoothly. You can purchase our specially formulated latex dressing aid here.

  • To avoid accidental damage, always handle your latex with care — avoid sharp objects and be mindful of long nails, as excessive pulling or scratching may cause tears.
Cleaning
  • After each wear, gently hand wash your latex garment in warm, soapy water. While specialty latex cleaning products are available online, a mild dishwashing liquid works just as well.

  • Once clean, lay the garment flat on a towel and carefully wipe away excess water from both the inside and outside. Allow it to air dry completely in a cool, shaded area.

  • Never dry latex in direct sunlight, as UV exposure can cause fading and deterioration.

Storage
  • Store your latex garments in a cool, dark wardrobe — ideally inside individual garment bags to prevent damage.

  • Avoid placing different colours in direct contact, especially light and dark shades, as colour transfer can occur.

  • Keep latex away from metal fittings or hangers, which may cause staining or discolouration over time.

  • If staining does happen, don’t worry — in many cases, marks will gradually fade after a few gentle washes, depending on the severity.
RUBBER
Cleaning
  • Wet a cloth with warm soapy water and begin rubbing, working the cloth over the rubber. Rinse off with warm water, then dry off with a towel.

  • Don’t leave/submerge the rubber in water as this can damage the metal hardware.
Storage
  • To maintain its shape, avoid bending or folding the rubber. Store the accessory flat or hung in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
