LATEX & RUBBER CARE
LATEX
PRE WEAR
All new latex items will arrive dusted in talcum powder to protect them from damage, this is the best way to send out items as they will be folded in the post.
You may choose to wear your latex non-shiny/un-polished but if you want to shine up your latex (like in our images) you can use a silicone lubricant, polish or spray
When dressing in fitted latex garments it is best to use silicone lubricant for easier entry, however talcum/baby powder can be used as an outgoing alternative. We have our own Latex Dressing Aid & Shine available for purchase here.
Dress gently without scratching or pulling with your nails as this could result in tears and damage.
POST WEAR
After wear, latex should be hand washed gently using warm water and latex cleaning product, alternatively you can use a mild detergent.
Lay the garment on a towel to dry and wipe off any water inside and out and allow to dry completely.
STORAGE
Store latex in a dark wardrobe, preferably in garment bags.
Never store different colours of latex next to each other or with metals as this may cause stains, especially in lighter colours.
If staining does occur and depending on how badly an item is stained, they do tend to fade away after a few washes.
BREAKAGE
If in the unfortunate event you break your latex garment (non manufacturing default) depending on the size and place of the tear latex is repairable using a patchwork method. We offer Latex Repair Kits - These are available for purchase and include everything you need including a detailed guide to repairing latex. If you are not confident in repairing the item yourself please contact us regarding your concerns, we are highly likely happy to do the repair for you, a rough quote will be provided after assessing the garment. This shouldn’t exceed $100AUD unless the job is largely complex.
RUBBER
CLEANING RUBBER
Wet a cloth with warm soapy water and begin rubbing, working the cloth over the rubber. Rinse off with warm water, then dry off with a towel.
Don’t leave/submerge the rubber in water as this can damage the metal hardware.
